Iceberg

Iceberg plus David LaChapelle was a match made in heaven. Having worked with David extensively while art director of ARENA, I collaborated with him for 5 seasons for this confident Italian label. Inspiration came from Fellini to Scarface, but was always done with our tongues firmly in cheek. To follow in David’s illustrious footsteps I commissioned Norbert Schoerner to continue the apparent madness. Together we used only found imagery on internet image searches – and the model Anne V – to create the campaigns.

We based this campaign on Fellini's La Dolce Vita , with Pamela Anderson as our Anita Ekberg. We paid homage to iconic scenes in our own 'Iceberg' way.

For this season we took inspiration from Jackie Onassis with Fernanda Tavares as our muse. Our casting include Sal Pacino (Al's dad) as Aristotle and a cast of extras to stand in for Lee Radziwill, Jackie's children and Ron Galella (there on the boat, see him?).

Mick and Marianne were the muses for this 60s London extravaganza. Shot around Kensington, with a cast of policemen and paparazzi, we had our very own guru to give sage fashion advice.

Scarface. We took the crew to Miami to recreate our version of the Brian de Palma classic. Johnny Zander was our Tony Montana and will shot the elevator scene in the original house from the movie. The World is Iceberg.

Ride the New Wave. Shot in the famous CBGB's just before it closed down this was our very own homage to the faces of the late 70s Bowery scene, with appearances from Debbie Harry, Iggy Pop, Robert Mapplethorpe, Billy Idol and Patti Smith.

After five campaigns with LaChapelle, I collaborated with Norbert Schoerner to create two more campaigns that relied solely on found internet imagery mixed with studio shoots. While not on location the anything goes attitude prevailed – Me: "I need an iguana right there, and a space shuttle that's taking off" Norbert: "Ok, but I want massive fruit and a cruise ship".
