Creative Direction & Design 

I started out in the industry as Art Editor of i-D Magazine before leaving for ELLE in London and then on to Arena – where I was Design Director and then Art Director. After four years there my editor and I launched the very first men's bi-annual fashion title in New York – Maxim Fashion. During this time I was also looking after campaigns for Iceberg, Gieves & Hawkes, Dunhill and Reiss. Lots of things have happened since. More ELLE, both in London and Paris. Lots of lifestyle shoots, book projects, brand launches, consultancy. You can see most of it on this site – not everything, that would be massive, and I'm sure you have things to be getting on with.  


It feels very natural to have a camera in my hand and it has helped me to become a better creative director. There are so many component parts to a shoot, it's always best to have an intimate knowledge of all of them if you want to successful images – however, and whoever, is making them. Plus, I love taking pictures. 

Brand Creation / Consultancy

Mr Natty, the grooming company that I founded and run with my long-time collaborator and master barber, Mr Matt Raine. The brand was born (on a long-haul flight home from some far-flung location) for two reasons. One: to put all the experience we had gained over the years into something that belonged to us and to see if the instinct we had for how brands connect was right (it was, more often than not, thankfully). Secondly, to create a line that both Matt and I wanted for ourselves and hoped our mates would like. Launched with a couple of hair products and a beard oil our line is now known worldwide and stocked in stores such as John Lewis, Urban Outfitters and ASOS.
